The University of Minnesota President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program builds on an institutional collaboration with the Partnership for Faculty Diversity, a national effort anchored by the University of California (UC) and the University of Michigan. This collaborative effort supports new scholars in their teaching, research, and service and contributes to institutional equity and diversity in higher education. It is the outgrowth of a longstanding UC initiative that has encouraged outstanding women and underrepresented Ph.D. recipients to pursue academic careers.
Through this presidential initiative, Minnesota joins a distinguished network of partner institutions that has included the 10-campus University of California (UC) system, three UC-affiliated national laboratories, the University of Michigan, the University of Colorado, Stanford University, the California Institute of Technology, and the University of Maryland. Carnegie-Mellon University and Minnesota are the two newest partners.
The University of Minnesota President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is designed to provide new scholars of all academic disciplines an opportunity to become more competitive candidates for tenure-track faculty appointments. The program provides postdoctoral fellowship opportunities, coupled with faculty mentoring, professional development, and academic networking opportunities. The program is hosted by the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Office for Equity and Diversity.
